[Review] The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil

hello!
i thought it was a good day to give you another skincare review, and today’s review is on one more The Ordinary product, as i have promised few days ago. it’s 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil that i bought and started using together with the Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG. by looking at these two products, now we all know that Deciem’s purpose was to create an honest, targeted, scientifically proven skincare range without ridiculous price tags (hence, their packaging is the least fancy in this whole world) and today i’m going to tell you whether this pure rosehip oil works or not.
what is it?
100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil is a light-weight face oil, extracted from pure rose hip seed through a complex cold-pressing process that maintains rich amount of linoleic acid, linolenic acid, and pro-vitamin A, all of which degrade when the extraction process involves heat. it claims to reduce photo-aging, such as sun spots and hyperpigmentation caused by direct/indirect UV exposure.

ingredients:
100% Rosa Canina Seed Oil (100% bulls**t free!!!)
texture and impression:
the oil is very light-weight, has a runny consistency which makes it easy to be spread and absorbed, sinks very fast on bare skin without leaving any greasy trace, though i hardly ever use it on its own. i use it as the last step of my night skincare routine to “lock” the serums and creams i used before, and it leaves a nice thin glossy film on top. due to my very dry skin type, i usually use six drops — yes, six — four drops on my face and the other two drops on my neck, followed with a gentle massage especially on my neck and some other drier parts such as nose and around my mouth, then i go to sleep and wake up in the next morning with a glowy, soft, and supple skin that i have never ever ever had before i started using this.
fyi, since this formula is completely unrefined, it imparts its natural scent which reminds me of fish oil that made me slightly uncomfortable the first time i opened it, though now i’m completely okay with it, knowing that unrefined rose hip oil is far more potent than the refined ones.

final thoughts:
this no-nonsense, no-frills, no-bulls**t rose hip oil has become the staple to my skincare routine, it leaves my skin soft and supple and super glowy every morning, even after i wash my face i can feel that my skin is more hydrated. i can’t tell that it works on sun spots because i barely have any to notice, but i can tell that it helps reduce the appearance of scars (yes, i have some scars on my face because i used to absentmindedly pick my pores with these nasty fingers. duh.) overall, this is a very good item that i would recommend to anyone with normal-to-dry skin.

repurchase?
YES! i know some other brands have similar products, but all of them are either far more expensive or have been refined, so i guess i’ll stick around this for a long long time. besides, it only costs around IDR 200K for 30 mL and lasts for at least 6 months, this one is a no-brainer to repurchase.
