I’ve been a japanese food junkie my whole life. from noodles like ramen, udon, soba, to various rice menu like onigiri, curry rice, and mozaru (baked rice topped with mozzarella cheese); you name it. I. LOVE. EM. ALL. No kidding, if I ever get to visit Japan, I will most definitely spend all my $$$ on every food I come across.
Talking about japanese food, it’s impossible for me to not mention this infamous japanese restaurant: Sushi Tei. It was 2010 — or 2011? — the first time I came to one of their branch in Galaxy Mall, and I’ve been a loyal customer ever since. I love the ambience, I love the casual open-kitchen concept, and I love how their food tastes, even though Sushi Tei isn’t the best when it comes to freshness. There are still a handful japanese restaurants in Surabaya that offer a better quality like Nishimura and Kizahashi but they will most likely charge you four times the price in Sushi Tei, lmao. Sushi Tei’s foods come with affordable price tags — and their ocha is free hahaha
I’m such a cheap skate.
Here are some pictures I took on my last visit to Sushi Tei Pakuwon Mall. If you’ve been following me on my social media for a year or so, you already know that I always order chuka iidako (baby octopus) everytime I go to Sushi Tei because it’s my personal favorite, but I would recommend Fuji Roll and Salmon Mentai to anyone who doesn’t regularly eat sushi, and for the dessert I’d like to recommend Nama Chocolate Ice Cream and Nama Matcha Ice Cream because they’re BOMB as f.
