For me, 2017 was like a rollercoaster ride; an intense series of ups-and-downs-and-turnarounds. There were too many things going on and I was emotionally exhausted, all over the place trying so hard not to collapse and when all these disasters finally came to an end, I couldn’t get any more excited. As soon as 2018 started, I removed my previous blog and moved to a new one, I even bought a domain so I could have an additional motivation to write, to learn more, and to focus only on the good side of everything. I’ve promised myself to do (and feel) better, so I decided to give myself a little — or maybe not-so-little treat in January in the hope of getting off to a good start.
I actually purchased few more stuffs (books and more make up) but they haven’t arrived yet so I’ll put them under February haul. Sooo, here’s pretty much what I bought in January, I attached the link for each product in case you’re interested 🙂
- Benefit Hoola Bronzer
- Benefit Porefessional Face Primer
- Benefit They’re Real Mascara in Black
- Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Fiery (I legit got this for free haha)
Is it considered a shame to admit that I had never bought any of Benefit products during previous 2 years of being a makeup hoarder? Yes? Okay. That’s why I did spare some budget to snatch them off Sephora’s shelves. Since I had never tried any of their products and they’re not that cheap, I didn’t want my purchase to be a waste of money on some “miss” products. I tried to play safe by choosing their bestselling ones and I am pleased with what I bought. I haven’t tried the face primer yet but I have tried the bronzer and mascara. The bronzer has just the right amount of warmth and is very easy to blend, and the mascara gives me fluttery long lashes. Me likey! And I also got a Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick as a gift from my purchase.
This is the facial foam that everyone swear by at the moment and I felt like I was the only person on earth who had never tried it, so I gave it a shot. I’ve been using it for 3 days in a row and I love how it leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated.
These lipsticks are drop dead gorgeous. I had a mini heart attack on how pretty Her Majesty is, it’s a universal deep brownish red that complements every skin tone. The shade Radiance is also very stunning, it’s a nude warm peach which is my kind of my-lips-but-better color.
I’ve finished a smaller tube of this scrub a long time ago and I didn’t have any plan to repurchase because I still had some other face scrub and masks to finish, but when I saw this on Watson’s shelf marked as “Sale” my hand snatched it in an instant.
- Mulberry Street Pyper in Black
- Hop-To-It Rabbit Imogene Passport Cover in Black
I am highly impulsive every time I come across a sale sign, and these black beauties are just another unplanned purchase I made during Kate Spade Surprise Sale few weeks ago *smh* I pre-ordered them from www.myhouseofmakeup.com but apparently these items are no longer available on Kate Spade website so I couldn’t attach the link. The passport cover was US$99 and the sling bag was US$199 but I got them for 50% off so that’s a steal.
Both me and my man ran out of perfumes so I bought two, mine is Jour Pour Femme by Boss and his is from Calvin Klein. He previously used Calvin Klein’s Be but I kinda loathe the scent, it was too spicy and a bit harsh for my liking, so I replaced it with Euphoria, both have spicy and woody notes but Euphoria is more subtle so I can wear it too, lol.
It’s actually a repurchase, I bought the first one in November last year because my skin developed perioral dermatitis due to prescribed medication usage and SK-II’s FTE managed to clear my skin within a couple of weeks. I initially wanted to buy the full-size set but unfortunately it was sold out so I had to repurchase the small version.
For someone who only highlights her cheekbones once a week, I sure have too many highlighters. But is there such thing as “too many highlighters”? I guess not. I’ve been dying to have this palette but I was torn between getting this or one of ABH Glow Kits, but I ended up buying this first and keeping the Glow Kit to buy later.
And that’s it! Detailed review and swatches of these products will be up soon. I apologize for the inconsistent brightness, natural lighting are hella tricky and I didn’t have much time to edit these pictures otherwise this post would be too long overdue. Anyway, if you enjoyed reading this post, please give this post a Like so I know 🙂
